2020 Holiday Gift Reveal: What I Bought This Winter

I may have gone a little wild on gifts this year…but there were so many Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals and I just needed some retail therapy. Here are some of the gifts I gave my friends and family this holiday season!

Conundrum Box
This is an adventure subscription box. My mom has been wanting to try a virtual escape room, but they’re pretty expensive. When I saw this box on

Shakespeare-Themed Cocktail Book
My dad loves Shakespeare and has a little bar counter in our house, so I got him this fun cocktail book! It also has snack recipes!

Paint By Numbers
My mom used to go to wine and paint nights, so my sister and I decided to get her a paint by numbers for her birthday. We chose this colorful scene of Paris, and it looks like it will keep her busy for a while!

McBride Sisters Wine
To go with the paint by numbers, we got my mom some red wine from McBride Sisters, a female Black-owned California winery. Check out these Black-owned candle companies for more gift ideas!

Headspace Subscription
This year has been hectic, so my friend and I gifted our other friend a one-year Headspace Pro subscription! There are a ton of short videos for meditation and a lot of other wellness-focused content. I should probably get this for myself…

Bean Box
My dad drinks coffee every day, so we decided to get him an artisanal coffee box. Bean Box is a small business from Seattle and they work with 35 roasters in the Pacific Northwest. Each coffee tasting box comes with four bags of different kinds of coffee, and you can choose the roast, as well as if you want whole beans or freshly ground coffee.

Sherpa Hoodie
I’m obsessed with this hoodie! I use mine all day every day! My friend’s birthday was in November and this was the perfect cozy fall gift!

Inspirational Coloring Book
Coloring books aren’t just for kids. This is a gift I got for my friend who is creative and into self-care for a gift exchange. I also gave her this 40-pack of markers, just in case she didn’t already have them.

On Wednesdays We Smash the Patriarchy shirt
My friend is also passionate about feminism and loves light pink, so when I saw this shirt on Etsy, I knew I had to get it for the second part of her gift exchange present!

The Perfect Letter: A Novel by Chris Harrison
My family loves watching The Bachelor/The Bachelorette and are big fans of Chris Harrison. We kept seeing this book in the background when he filmed at his home over the summer, and it got 4.5 stars on Amazon, so I got it for my sister for Christmas. To complete her Monday night, I also got her a cozy hoodie from Costco and a wine glass from Etsy that says “the most dramatic season ever.”

Tennis Shoes
My office always does an Adopt-a-Family for the holidays. The family said their son needed shoes, so I got these cute little tennis shoes for him!

Marble Cutting Board
I got this for my roommate who is a bigger foodie than I am. She loves to cook and makes a ton of delicious meals and sweets! Check out her foodstagram @lilpizzabagel!

Bike Light
I had a gift exchange at my office and the person I got said she started biking in quarantine and needed a bike light so she could ride a night. Sometimes you just gotta get them what they want!

Gron CBD Chocolates and Tinctures
Well, I couldn’t just get my office gift exchange buddy just the bike light, and we had a $25 budget. I saw that she was eating CBD popcorn on her Instagram story and started to research CBD products. Gron is an Oregon-based female-owned company and they had a Black Friday sale where you got a free Tincture flight with any purchase, so I decided to get her the chocolate sampler and hit my budget perfectly.
