My Prime Day 2021 Haul

If you follow me on Instagram @livelybylaura, you know that I was all over the Prime Day sales! Full disclosure, my advertising agency does work on the advertising campaigns for Amazon and I presented the Prime Day media plan to the client, but I’ve been a Prime Member since I was 18, so I would’ve shopped regardless. I spent way more money than last year’s Prime Day, but I had about $270 in Amazon gift cards, so really, no damage was done.

EVERYTHING I BOUGHT ON PRIME DAY

I purchased several items from my Prime Day Wish List, but some of them didn’t go on sale, so I ended up with different brands.

I ended up getting a bunch of skincare products.  The Youth to the People set was on sale, but it was still going to be about $90, so I decided to get some cheaper products. The Grown Alchemist moisturizer was on sale, so I purchased that.  I’ve used it before, and I like that it has a slight floral scent and that it comes in a 2.19 oz tube instead of a 1.7 oz container like other moisturizers.

My skin is not sensitive, so I’m able to try new brands. No B.S. Skin Care was having a pretty good sale, so I decided to try the foaming cleanser and hyaluronic acid serum.  I haven’t used a foam cleanser in a while, but I’m a fan. The consistency of the hyaluronic acid is thicker than the Glossier Super Bounce that I used earlier this year, and it has the faintest scent of the whiff of alcohol you get when you open a bottle of pure vanilla extract.  I’ve been using both products for the past few days and I would recommend them!

I’ve been looking for an alternative to using cotton balls to apply toner, so I bought this 16 pack of organic reusable bamboo cotton makeup remover pads. The ones from my wish list didn’t go on sale, but I like this set because it comes with a cute metal container to store them in and a little mesh bag to use to toss in the laundry.  The circular pads are larger than I expected and they’re pretty soft!

I was reading a list of things to buy on Amazon and these silicone face mask brushes came up. It comes in a 2-pack so I gave one to my mom.  I have a few masks that I haven’t tried yet because they look messy, so I’m excited to use it.

I got the bamboo hairbrush from my list, and it is way better than the Wet Brush! It doesn’t hurt my head even when my hair is tangled from the shower.  It also came with a comb and a cute yellow flowery headband that I gave to my mom.

I got the Woolzies sleep collection oils from my list, and I’m either exhausted or these oils really work because I have been falling asleep right away! The scents are pretty strong. I’ve been adding 5 drops to my 150 mL oil diffuser, but I think I’m going to try 3 drops instead. The Sleep one smells mostly of citrus and the Relax one is warm and cozy, while the Stress Relief smells like a spa.

The bike seat cover that I wanted wasn’t on sale, so I got a different brand. This Cevapro bike saddle cover makes our stationary bike slightly more comfortable, but it helps a lot on our real bikes.

I wasn’t planning on getting this, but my mom saw that fireproof document bags were on sale. I keep all of my medical forms, car service forms, lease agreements, tax forms, etc. in a simple plastic file folder.  With all the fires in both Washington and California, I decided why not get a fireproof bag? I found this fireproof document bag on a lightning deal and I’m able to fit the file folder inside of this zippered briefcase. There are also pockets inside for passports and smaller items, and I still have room for more things.

In normal times, I usually keep a bunch of stuff in the trunk of my car, like reusable grocery bags, a first aid kit, snacks, water, an extra change of workout clothes, and a soccer ball. It can get kind of messy in there, so I’ve debated getting a car trunk organizer.  It’s not something I need immediately, but this collapsible trunk organizer was on sale and came with a cooler bag, so I decided to get it. It’s a nice size and will definitely keep all of my soccer mom supplies together and separate from groceries or anything else I’ll put in my trunk.

I had seen Target was doing BOGO 50% off on books and matching all the Amazon book prices, but I resisted and didn’t buy any.  On the second day of Prime Day, Amazon had that deal for some bestsellers and since I had more gift card money, I decided to get Atomic Habits by James Clear, which was on my wish list, and Ishmael by Daniel Quinn, which is my friend Katherine’s favorite book.

My friend Anica’s birthday was July 2, so I got her The Little Book of Self-Care for Cancer (the horoscope, not the disease) and a Mighty Marshmallow Face Mask from Bliss.  I have the Gemini self-care book and thought it was pretty spot-on, so I thought that would be fun, and then of course who doesn’t like a good face mask?

All in all, I spent around $220 for 14 items and saved $55 with Prime Day deals. I also selected No-Rush Shipping, so I got all of my products delivered in 3 boxes instead of 14 boxes, and they arrived a week after Prime Day. I also got digital credit that I will use to buy an ebook.
