Gift Guide for Photographers

With a smartphone in hand, anyone can be a photographer!  Photography has been my favorite creative outlet for years, and I think it’s a lot of fun to challenge myself to try new editing styles, learn Photoshop tricks, and use new props.  This list includes gifts for beginner iPhone-ographers and professional photographers alike!

Galaxy Wall Projector
Sometimes you don’t want to leave the house to go shoot. This projector would transform any room to get that Insta-worthy shot! It would also just be a cool prop to have for any dinner party.

Gray Malin Coffee Table Book
Everybody needs a great coffee table book, and this is one any photographer would happy to show off. Breathtaking photos from far away places will also be sure to inspire their future shoots and trips!

128GB Memory Card
One can never have too many memory cards! I didn’t realize I had filled up my memory card during a recent shoot, so I’m glad I was carrying my extra ones! I like to have at least 3 of the Sandisk cards.

Memory Card Holder
Make sure your photographer has somewhere to safely store all their memory cards in one place. This 8-slot case has a sleek design and it’s durable and water-resistant to withstand most adventures!

Pack of Crystal Balls
These are great for nature and architecture photography!  With the magic of physics, it will invert the reflection. I’ve been wanting one for years, and this pack is nice because it comes with three balls! The little one would easily fit in any backpack compartment.

1TB Hard Drive
Photos take up a lot of space on the computer, so an external hard drive is a must! I recently got this one and it’s compact and easy to use. I’m pretty careful with my belongings, but I also bought this protective case.

Fairy String Lights
If your friend takes portraits and has an Instagram, chances are they know of @brandonwoelfel.  He uses all sorts of holiday and fairy lights to create whimsical, aesthetic photos.  I bought this pack of fairy lights and they work great and I like how the battery case is super small and you can easily hide it during portrait shoots.

Small Round Mirror
It’s fun and challenging to get unique reflections in mirrors. I’ve seen a lot of photos featuring female models, but I think it would be cool to try to work with a male model.

Camera Cleaning Kit
I don’t know why I don’t have this yet! I bought a sensor cleaning kit a year ago, but this one would be good to have for regular lens cleanings.

Moon Lamp
This is a cool gift even if you don’t want to photograph it!  You can take the moon off the stand and take pictures of your hand holding it or tossing it in the air.  The options are endless!

Cute Camera Strap
I use the original camera strap that came with the camera, mostly because it was kind of a struggle to put it on, but if someone were to give me a new one, I’d definitely use it! This one comes in three different floral patterns.

Prism
Prisms create an interesting reflection effect in photos! I bought this prism, again inspired by @brandonwoelfel, and it’s the perfect size to hold up to my lens.  It came in a protective box and fits in my camera bag.

Disco Ball
This disco ball is a vibe!  I will definitely buy one when I get back to California! I want to take one to Joshua Tree National Park and take portraits in the desert and then use it as decor for a pizza party shoot in the evening.
