I’ve been listening to podcasts since the summer of 2016 when I commuted almost four hours every day driving to and from my internship in North Hollywood. In times of COVID-19, I’ve been listening to them every night when I wash dishes and during our road trips. A lot of people recommend podcasts, but I never know which episodes to listen to, so I made a playlist of my favorite individual podcast episodes!

First thing’s first, How I Built This with Guy Raz is my all-time favorite show and it got me hooked on listening to podcasts. While I do have my own photography side business, I took an entrepreneurship class in college and figured out I will never be a hard core entrepreneur. However, I loveee hearing about how companies were founded, and this podcast does just that. Guy Raz interviews the founders of massive companies from Instagram to Crate & Barrel to Shake Shack. I think it’s fascinating and enjoy every single episode I listen to, but if I had to pick favorites, I’d say Airbnb, Warby Parker, and Toms were especially interesting. I’ve included those episodes in the playlist at the end of this post.
Tour Photography Process with Nesrin Danan | Build and Bloom
This episode answered so many of my questions about how to get started with concert photography, being on tour with an artist, and the life of a full-time freelance photographer.
Era of the Wanderbabe | Clout Check
This podcast show in general is so refreshing because two full-time travel photography influencers talk about their jobs and don’t take themselves so seriously. This episode talks about the wanderbabe trend and I laughed out loud with their quiz at the end.

This episode explains how the government encourages people to live in wildfire zones and how that affects insurance companies and the real estate market.

In this podcast show, two women review popular self-help books. I liked how they discussed a lot of topics from coming out to feminism to racism and more in this episode
How Dangerous Is Our Drinking Water? | The Goop Podcast
This episode reminds me of the movie Dark Waters and talks about the chemicals in our water. It also mentions the water facility in Orange County that I wrote an article about in college that cleans sewage water and makes it potable.
An Unlikely Superpower | Invisibilia
I won’t spoil it, but this episode talks about how a woman learns she has a skill after her husband gets sick.
