Pro tip: make your own self-care bingo template before you even feel anxious!
Before my anxiety struck hard last year, self-care was something I had the luxury of dabbling in only when absolutely necessary. It was a #treatyourself kind of thing when it really should’ve been a #morningroutine kind of thing.
When I first started experiencing daily anxiety last fall, I struggled to find activities that would calm me down. I’m not a fan of yoga, baths are not relaxing to me, I don’t drink tea, and candles aren’t my thing. I’m clearly not the self-care queen of my friend group.
I am a list maker, so I was desperately trying to brainstorm everything that I could do. As mentioned at the beginning of this blog post, I don’t like the “typical” stress-relieving things. And that’s okay. Just like how everyone has different love languages, my self-care activities don’t have to look like what my family and friends do. They also don’t have to be expensive!
Instagram Bingo got pretty popular earlier in quarantine, and I made a bunch of fun templates for my friends. So recently I figured, why not create a self-care bingo? Whenever I feel anxious, I can look at it and have 25 things that I know will make me feel better. If I need to fill a whole day with self-care, I can just start checking off boxes till I make a BINGO or two or three.
These bingo templates were made in Canva. Background photos are my own.
If you find my own self-care bingo template helpful, feel free to download it, but I also made several templates using my nature photos, so you can create your own! The easiest way is to click on a template and then press and hold to save the image to your phone. Upload the image to your Instagram story and add text. From there, you can share your completed template to your Instagram story, or screenshot it and just save it on your phone again.
Some thought starters for creating your self-care bingo:
What do you like to do when you aren’t in a rush?
What are some hobbies you’ve forgotten over the years?
When or where do you feel most ease or inspired?
Hope this helps!
