25 Lessons From 25

I survived the start of my quarter life crisis! Twenty-five was a year of ups and downs, but everything is a learning experience, so here are some things I’ve learned.

1. Truly anything in my life is easier than training for and running 13.1 miles so there’s nothing I can’t do.

2. Price is rarely ever an accurate indication of value.

3. Pre-work Friday morning plans are the best way to start off the weekend.

4. I could never move to NY, but the fall is the best time to be there, and I will avoid going in the summer from now on.

5. I love hosting book club, but it’s harder to keep up a book club than I thought.

6. I don’t have to say yes to plans with everyone all the time and I shouldn’t expect them to say yes to me.

7. If it’s colder than 72 degrees outside, I need to bring a sweater.

8. Being busy doesn’t mean being productive.

9. Living close (within 5mins) to a freeway is actually a necessity for me.

10. When planning trips, I should only plan for 2 full meals a day or I’ll be too full.

11. I can put together furniture and am handier than I thought.

12. Vinegar is the most versatile liquid and can clean calcium deposits off retainers.

13. Even if a drink tastes good, I still feel a lot better if I don’t have alcohol.

14. I am terrible at understanding anyone with any kind of accent.

15. My time is the most valuable thing and I don’t have enough of it to waste on people who don’t care.

16. Don’t go bowling with long thumbnails!

17. Immodium or its cheaper yet effective drug store version is the best thing for food poisoning/norovirus.

18. Unsurprisingly, I am bad at axe throwing and TopGolf.

19. AirPods and being hands and cord-free is a game-changer.

20. With the right app, daily habit tracking can be very effective motivation for me.

21. I actually can keep a white comforter clean.

22. Uber gift cards > any other gift card.

23. Tennis is both more and less fun to watch than I thought.

24. I am more decisive than most people I know.

25. Workout classes are the place where I thought I’d feel the most judged but it’s the opposite. I don’t feel judged and I judge no one.
