PFH: Photograph From Home with Bella & Olivia

I always have a blast shooting with Bella and Olivia, and it was fun to meet their dogs Brooklyn and Boba! They had just moved into a beautiful house in Studio City and it’s basically a home that you’d see in magazines, so it was fun taking photos inside and outside. We shot so many different looks on this day! I was pretty impressed with ourselves.

We started in the backyard with a few outfits. There was a plant wall by the pool and a little lounge area. We got pics with and without the puppies which were playing around us the whole time.

After shooting the first two outfits, we headed over to Ventura Blvd, the main shopping street in Studio City. We were going to shoot at a magazine stand, but the man said he didn’t allow photos even if we bought a magazine? Like what? In this city and this economy? As Olivia said, it’s not rejection, it’s re-direction! Sometimes shoots don’t go the way you planned. So we headed across the street to 7-Eleven and got some Slurpees to take photos outside.

We drove back to the house and they changed into long sleeves for some fall photos even though it was like 90 degrees. They had pumpkins and we took some fun shots in the front yard. After, they put on some pajamas and did some sleepover-type photos in the living room on their cloud couch.

The final photos were in the pool. Pro tip: if you’re going to shoot in water, always do those last because there’s no going back once the hair and makeup get wet. If you’re at the beach, take all your photos on the sand and then have the model get into the water.
