Last weekend, I did my first maternity photo shoot! My friend Camilla and her husband, Joe are expecting a baby boy in August, and they asked me to take their maternity photos. It’s crazy to think I’ve been doing photography for over a decade now! I started my business when I was 16 years old with high school senior portraits, which turned into college senior portraits, which even turned into grad school senior portraits. And here we are now, I’m 28 and my friends need maternity photos!
We shot at Ginger Rogers Beach, a couple miles north of the Santa Monica Pier, around 7 pm on a Saturday. It was surprisingly not that crowded for a summer evening, which worked in our favor! Camilla wore a blue dress that billowed in the ocean breeze, and we got some great photos! This July has definitely been cooler than normal, and the cloud coverage has been coming in at night, so there wasn’t a very bright sunset. However, I was able to work some magic in Photoshop to kind of fake some sunshine, and I’m very pleased with how these turned out.
